Long Read - The constant battle

At the age I am right now, I feel like I have not achieved much in life. This feeling, though I am not exactly sure how true it is to me, still makes me feel sad and bad.

I don't like to compare myself with other people as I feel to each their own plus everyone has their fate and destiny planned differently. But sometimes, you tend to compare yourself to others unknowingly and then BAM you start listing down what the other person has achieved so far as compared to yourself and you kind of feel that sadness eating at your heart.

Body-image wise I think I am still okay and though sometimes I feel frustrated for being bigger than most girls, mostly when I am shopping for clothes or shoes, I am grateful that I am still healthy and able to move around.

It is mostly the financial and social aspect that affect me most of the time. I see people who are younger than me travelling most of the time and it would affect me. Last time I used to get affected and feel bad that I could not afford branded goods even though I have started working but slowly I learn it is not necessary to be flashing well-known logos if in reality you cannot even afford a proper meal! It is the travelling part that got to me usually.

I see most people who are of my age or within my age group who are already married, starting a family and though it does not affect me most of the time, sometimes I do wonder if I ever will be married and have my own family and children one day.. But I am fortunate that I am not pressured as to get married at the soonest possible so this part is still manageable. Still, sometimes when negative thoughts kick in, I do wonder if I lack anything..

Somehow sometimes I would also suddenly feel as if I do not have friends to talk to when I want to have a heartfelt conversation. It is so hard to explain how I am feeling at times. The negative thoughts will suddenly decide to be switched on and it would leave me feeling depressed for the rest of the day. Thank goodness a goodnight sleep usually help rid of them.

Not sure if it is a quarter life crisis or whether the fact that I will be joining club three zero in a few years time that is affecting my feelings and emotions. I always tell myself and others that age is just a number but let's get real, you would feel old at times when you are already of certain age because that is the reality! No matter how hard you try to convince yourself that age is just a number, you will somehow be reminded that age is still a number that is pretty important for some reason. Like the biological clock stuff and all.

I don't like to indulge in self-pity as it is unhealthy so I try as much as possible not to get affected by the things that I have written above. Also, I feel guilty if I kept saying I have not achieved much as it feels like I am being ungrateful though I am come so far and be where I am right now.

I think I also have this problem where I think about something and then I am being pulled at different directions when I try to think of solutions for the problem.

It is so frustrating sometimes to fight this inner battle alone. But you have to because only you can feel how you are feeling and even if you try to share  with someone how you are feeling, I doubt that the other person can feel exactly how you are feeling. So many feelings I am so confused.

It is a constant battle and it will always happen but at the end of the day, I have only myself to fight this battle with.

Long Read - Salman Khan & Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Somewhat how it all started..

Salman Khan and Kabir Khan reunites again after their success with Ek Tha Tiger and this time with Bhajrangi Bhaijaan.

Just a quick fact, the film is currently on its 3rd week and already it's making 300crores. I promised myself on twitter that I will not tweet or retweet status that indicates the collection of this film. But this is a blog post so I am allowed some leniency I hope :D

Where do I even start?

Bajrangi Bhaijaan, unlike Ek Tha Tiger is a heartfelt and heartwarming film. It discusses the conflict between India and Pakistan and religion differences without being too direct in your face.

A rather simple plot of an Indian man, Pawan played by Salman, wanting to help Munni, the voiceless Pakistani girl, return to her home in Pakistan after being stranded in India. The beauty of the film lies in how Pawan sincerely wanted to help Munni return to her home even though he has a problem of his own. With his girlfriend's support, played by the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor, Pawan goes all out to help Munni even if it means risking his own life. Together with a helpful reporter, played by Nawaz, who initially wanted to earn a name in the news industry, they went on a mission to reunite Munni with her family and her home.

It is so heartwarming to see the chemistry between Salman and Harshali during the teaser and trailer that I remember saying I did not mind if Kareena was not in the film to play Salman's love interest. The film would have work fine as well!

After seeing all the great positive reviews, we finally went to watch this film on a Saturday at 9.50pm! All the love only for Salman :D

Only 5 minutes into the film and I was already crying. Was teased by my brother and sister badly for crying when the film has just started but I did not care. To be emotionally invested so fast with a film must mean something. I cried, smiled, laughed, cried again, laughed, cried again and again and finally was so happy at the end of the film.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is honestly a heartfelt film. I guess it was made with so much love that the love multiplied and that is why it became such a success within such short time period. After Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kabir Khan has officially becomes one of my favourite director. I feel like Kabir brings out the best and brought out the actor in Salman.

The character Salman played in this film is different from his usual Hero persona. In this film, you can't help pitying him and later you just felt like giving him a big hug for being the sincere man that he is.

Before I watched the film, I was in love with Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata and was so fascinated with nature's beauty captured and showcased during the song to the audience.

After watching the film, I have fallen in love with Tu Jo Mila..

A bonus song for Bajrangi Bhaijaan that was not included as part of the film. Initially I was quite upset that they wasted such a good fun song. But after watching the film, I can now see what Salim Khan saw when he suggested to Kabir not to include this fun song into the film or attach it as a credit ending just like how Mashallah was for Ek Tha Tiger.

It does not felt right not ending this post with a couple of Salman Khan's pictures so here they are..

Long Read - That Night We Went To A Concert

The date: 28 April 2015
The time: 7.30pm
The venue: Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre
The event: Demi Lovato: Demi World Tour In Singapore 2015

Throwback to that weekday night my sister and I went to Demi's concert. It was a Tuesday night. I was from work. My sister came from school. We met up and we had a good night singing along to the songs Demi was performing. Actually my sister did most of the singing considering how little I listen to Demi's songs. I know right. Why attend the concert when you don't exactly know the songs/artiste. WHATEVER!

I went. I enjoyed. I had one of the best night with my sister. It was a #sisterdatenight.

Ever since I bought the tickets for Demi's World Tour, I had been thinking how I should have gone to Taylor Swift's concert since I listen to her songs more than Demi's. True enough TayTay is coming to Singapore but I won't be going. Why? The ticket prices are crazy!

Well. This is not the only tour/concert I had missed out. I badly wanted to go to Lilly Singh's World Tour: Trip To Unicorn Island. I did not go. I looked forward to go to Bonda Bedah and Mak Temah's theater act. I did not go as well.

I am seriously hoping my favourite band (at this point of time :P) R5 would include a tour in Singapore. I have been listening to their songs every single day for the past two three weeks. Watching their tour videos on Youtube, I am really really keen to attend their concert to have a great night singing along to their songs. Their energy level is damn high! Don't believe me? Check out their videos on Youtube then and decide for yourself :D

Some of R5's songs they played on their World Tour that I really really like:

Quick Update - The East Coast

East Coast, the place where we usually go with families or friends to relax, unwind and enjoy the sea, sun and sand.

While relaxing, this is the view we would usually see..

And these are the view I was lucky to see while opening a door at one of the condo nearby to East Coast. Basically, East Coast from the distance.. Honestly, the photos do not do justice to the actual beauty your eyes feast upon when you are physically there.

Not sure about you but I can surely just stand there at the balcony to enjoy the beautiful scenery that nature has to offer.. You get this therapeutic effect watching the sea that never seems to end with the ships lining up on the sea, the blue sky. Oh yes the blue sky is the beauty that holds everything together. Once the sky turns grey which I witnessed on another day, the view somewhat turns into a sad picture altogether. So yes, blue sky is a must when there's a sea.
Panoramic view

I still cannot get over the nature's beauty.. Always mesmerizing. Always beautiful.
