Quick Update - IIFA is coming to town!

IIFA 2012 is going to be held in Singapore!! The whole industry will be in town soon to celebrate Indian cinemas. I didn't get a ticket as they are so expensive!!

Ticket Price

Standard - S$1500, S$700, S$500, S$350, S$250, S$110
Restricted View - S$250, S$110

I will just rely to some Bollywood blogs (TheDailyHoney of them) to follow what is happening around IIFA. Heard there will be IIFA Rocks besides the main award ceremony.

Some of those who will be coming

Also heard my favourite man, Salman, will be coming. ARGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

I wanna see him badly in person but I just don't know how. Had contemplated going to the airport in the hope of bumping into him or whoever is coming. But from what I noticed they usually fly in the wee hours like at night (after 12midnight kind of timing) to avoid the photographers I guess.

Let's just see if he would really come as my gut feeling is saying Salman won't be coming to attend IIFA. He has not been attending for the past two years! The last he attended was in 2010 at Sri Lanka and that was when they promoted Dabangg. So though I think he might not be coming, another part of me is saying he might be coming to promote his new film, Ek Tha Tiger.

I would really wish I could get the tickets to either the IIFA Rocks or the main ceremony award so I can be part of the whole IIFA2012!!

Any kind souls to provide me with at least 2 tickets please??

Update: It's been years since this event was held. But I didn't lose. Why you asked? Because Salman didn't attend this event yo!

Long Read - Ms Ahjumma

I can't believe I am into Korean drama but I like this one.

It's about this housewife, Geum Hwa who is happy being a wife and mother that she neglected her looks. Her husband then divorced her to marry Sae Mi, a cunning and slick woman who is out to ruin Geum Hwa's life. Starting out as a fat and unhappy just-divorced woman, Geum Hwa entered into a bootcamp after being persuaded by her daughter. She returns as a new person, a confident good-looking woman who wants to strive for the better for herself and her daughter.

Geum Hwa then joins an advertising company who is a rival to her ex-husband advertising company. Her boss who is a cold person showing very little or no emotion at all started to change without him realising after Geum Hwa joins his company. Her words, her attitude to life started to change him and he then realised there's more to life and has a feeling for her. Problem is he's a married man and Geum Hwa cannot stand man who divorce or leave one's wife for another woman. She has been through it all and she can understand how women feels when that happen to them.

The drama is currently on-going so we'll keep watching it. Unlike other dramas, Ms Ahjumma moves from one episode to the next fast. Also, I enjoy watching how Geum Hwa ex-husband gets all jealous seeing her in the company of another man, her boss. Though the story touches on a heavy subject, the way it is being potrayed is light-hearted and enjoyable so that's why I like it!

Oh by the way, I am not into Korean songs, boybands etc etc. I am still a true Bollywood fan!!

Long Read - I am one of the Fringies. Are you?

Fringe!!!! I am crazy about this serials. First some background on how I became hooked to it.

I was into Supernatural and had borrowed my colleague's dvd. This colleague of mine then recommended that I give this new serials he had watched a try. He described it as being a science-fiction genre serials and is interesting and intriguing. At hearing the word sci-fi, I politely refused as I don't have a liking to anything that belongs to that particular genre.

See, until now I still don't get what Star Trek or Star Wars are all about. Even Keanu Reeves in Matrix could not attract my attention at all.

He was quite persistent that I give one episode a try and if I don't like it, I can return Fringe to him. So I hesitantly watch Fringe and was totally lost. All this sci-fi is not my cup of tea and so I had difficulty understanding the whole storyline.

I don't know why I did not just stop episode one halfway but continued watching it to episode 2, to the next few episodes and before long, I got hooked to Fringe!

I guess the elements of jointing all the clues and trying to figure what Fringe is all about kept me glued to the serials. I love CSI-Miami so I guess that's why I could manage Fringe.

So what is this Fringe all about. It's about how our world is actually not just our world. That there is an alternate world next to ours where there is another us over there. Not exactly the same us, as that would make the two of us twins but another us who has their own identity but somehow we have that common feature as us in this world. Confusing much right..

The main cast are Agent Olivia Dunham, Walter Bishop, Agent Broyles, Agent Astrid and Peter Bishop, my favourite guy in Fringe!!

Olivia Dunham

Walter Bishop

Agent Astrid

Agent Broyles

Peter Bishop

What I love most about this serials is they get your mind to try to work out the answers as to what is happening behind all the mysterious incidents that have occured or is occuring.

We're into season 4 of Fringe now.

(As I was typing away, I get somekind of dejavu that I have dedicated a post on Fringe before)
