From Bollywood to Kdrama and now Cdrama - Quick Read

Grew up watching and loving Bollywood until they started to be Hollywood. Salman Khan fan forever!

Been years since I watch a proper film. Miss the essence of Bollywood films - the songs, dance, beautiful and colourful traditional costumes. I know the gen z actors and actresses now but can't think of one film of theirs that left any deep impression. Sometimes I'm glad I was able to follow Bollywood during their peak era.

Later on I found the fascinating world of kdrama and their 16 episodes drama stories. The handsome MLs and pretty FLs and OSTs kept me going. 16 episodes means I could watch one show after another while collecting all the handsome oppas and doensang names along the way.

Now it's 2026 and I stumbled onto cdrama and stanning Liu Yuning fast. Finding articles about him, checking out videos on him. Smiling silly to myself watching his funny streaming videos. Help! This feels somewhat similar to when I was stanning Salman so hard last time.

Still very much into kdrama. Am still an avid fan of older Bollywood songs and films especially the 1990s to 2000s.

Night time melancholy - Quick Read

Night time somehow brings out the melancholy vibes.

I looked up while on the street and saw this tiny cages attached to this building in Orchard/Somerset

Saw this temporary container building which instantly brought me back to my secondary school years. We studied for almost 1 year in such temporary container classroom and it was always very cold every morning.

Fun fact, I heard this song performed by Taufik Batisah first and later found out the actual singer is M. Nasir.

Fallen down the rabbit hole of cdrama (Quick Read)

I've always always avoided watching cdrama as their total episodes are usually more than 25. Way too much I can handle.

But in 2026 I'm breaking this habit.. And it's all because of Pursuit of Jade and Prisoner of Beauty!

The beautiful and addictive OST A Single Thought made me watch Pursuit of Jade. Zhang Linghe as Yan Zheng is handsome. Tian Xiwei as the small but feisty Fan Changyu made me a fan.

Naturally watching Zhang Linghe altered my social media algorithm and before long I came across their game show The Truth. And this is how I discovered Liu Yuning. I'm not exactly sure what made me decided to watch Prisoner of Beauty and now I'm a fan of Liu Yuning! I think I'm liking him more than Zhang Linghe. Probably because of his age. Yuning is more closer to my age than Zhang Linghe.

Reading about this man isn't helping either. The more I read about him, the more I think I like him and his voice..!

I think I'm into historical cdrama more than their modern drama because of their costume which is beautiful and handsome. But I can't stand the political palace scheming mind games.
